At UC Davis, global issues are on our daily to-do list. The UC Davis World Food Center opened its doors two years ago to help address global hunger. The center is host to the Food Innovation Institute, a $40million partnership between our university and Mars, Inc. We are bringing together the brightest minds in agriculture, food policy and biotechnology.
The World Food Center recently sponsored the “Food Hackathon,” a two-day event where small, interdisciplinary teams worked together to develop winning ideas to improve nutritional access for underserved communities.
Making sure everyone has enough food to eat is hard. Supporting global health initiatives through programs like the World Food Center is easy.
