I was cheer captain in high school, but I can’t do a cartwheel.

Why I chose UC Davis
I chose UC Davis because many of my favorite high school teachers graduated from UC Davis. Since I want to become a teacher, UC Davis seemed like the perfect place for me to follow in my teachers’ footsteps. It has been a great experience!

Why I chose UC Davis
I fell in love with the campus when I visited. I love the arboretum, biking, and how pretty everything is. I love the sense of community, and, of course, the strong academics.
Most transformative UC Davis Experience
Meeting people with diverse backgrounds has been a transformative experience because it has allowed me to grow more open minded and learn so much outside of the traditional classroom learning experience.
Why I love UC Davis
I love how unique of a place it is; there really isn’t anywhere else I’ve been that has so many friendly people, cool trees, and bikes.

I chose UC Davis because of its academics and its cultural diversity. The open-minded environment of Davis really helped me get comfortable quick!

That would probably be my Psychology 141 class, Cognitive Development.

It would have to be my experience here at TOP. It has been difficult but enlightening to work at TOP because I didn’t realize how much more it costs our school in order to support our resources.

Besides the fact that what we do directly impacts the resources that we use here as students, working here helped me realize how important it is to stay connected with our alumni. The environment can be stressful but it helps when you have peers that encourage you to do well!

Design 16 – Professor Molloy really helped make me feel confident in my graphic design skills. It definitely wasn’t easy and there was a lot of work, but it was so rewarding.

Joining Mga Kapatid and the FilAm – I found my home away from home and learned more about my heritage by participating in the different activities.
Why I love UC Davis
Everyone is so nice! When I first visited, Aggies were holding the door open and giving me directions before I asked. It was hard to turn down UC Davis after visiting.

Gifts to UC Davis help retain me academically, by funding computer labs, the Internship and Career Center, and Student Academic Success Center (among others).

Being able to play a minor role in helping students live, receiving a scholarship for myself, and continuing to keep amazing resources that help us throughout our academic careers is a great source of fulfillment.

Why I chose UC Davis
At the time I was choosing colleges I didn’t know what I wanted to pursue in terms of a major, but I knew that UC Davis offered an array of areas to study. So along with its beautiful campus and wonderful staff, choosing UC Davis was an easy task.
Most Influential Faculty Member
Too many to count! My major influential faculty members would have to be Dr. Valverde, Dr. Hamson, Mrs. Wilson in the College of Letters and Science Office and the rest to come.
Most Influential Classes
AAS 100 (Survey of Ethnicity in the U.S.) was the class that made me pursue African American Studies as my second major and ASA 2 (Contemporary Issues of Asian Americans) is where I met Dr. Valverde.
Most transformative UC Davis Experience
  1. When I was asked by Dr. Valverde to be one of her research assistants.
  2. When I received several scholarships from TOP and other sources that allowed me to continue my education at Davis.
Why I love UC Davis
UC Davis has given me so many opportunities that I would not have had otherwise. Being a foster student, I don’t know where I would be if it wasn’t for UC Davis and all the wonderful people and resources it offers.

I’ve received several scholarships during my time here at UC Davis which have allowed me to continue my education. And those scholarships would not have been made possible it not for gifts made by our alumni.
