EME 50: Manufacturing Processes – I got to work with industrial equipment and manufacture my own pieces. I loved the hand-on experience!

How Gifts to UC Davis Support my Aggie Experience
I love visiting the Internship and Career Center for help with internships and resume building. I also love the food at the Coffee House (CoHo). All this, and more is made possible because of alumni.

It give me an opportunity to reach out to alumni and learn from their experiences. I also get great advice.

Why I Chose UC Davis
I chose Davis for its animal science program to pursue pre-veterinary science, but I have since switched my major and pursuits. I found a greater passion in social politics and journalism.

Switching from a science major to social sciences and humanities was the biggest moment of defiance and courage for me because I decided to pursue my passion instead of what I felt I should pursue in a research university. It also shows that this university has so many opportunities to offer its students.

I love UCD because of its environmental sustainability, rapid progress, and idiosyncratic small town college atmosphere.

My Fun Fact

I went to an animal science magnet high school where I learned how to train rats for an animal behavior course. Now I have three pet rats and teach them tricks for fun.

Why I Chose UC Davis
My older brother graduated from UC Davis and on that day I’ve never seen my parents so proud. I wanted to give them the gift of having another son graduate from UC Davis.

I really loved the feel of the campus, and I still do. The small town quirks with a big university vibe meshes into a great environment.

Joe Wenderoth, my poetry professor, with a different teaching style helped me understand poetry. Now I enjoy it.

LIN 1: My medieval literature class on monsters was my first upper division course ever. It cemented for me that English is the major I belong in.

Why I Work at TOP
I have been working at TOP since fall quarter of freshman year. I applied because I need a job. How I’m here because I love what we do and couldn’t imagine working anywhere else.

I speak three languages: English, French, and Spanish.

CHE 118A: Organic Chemistry for Health and Life Sciences – my first organic chemistry class, NPB 101: Exercise Physiology – a class where I learned a lot of physiology and organ systems.
Why I Love UC Davis
Davis is so beautiful and has a great atmosphere. I feel like all the students come together to study and learn. This has created a very positive and enriching experience for me.

Gifts to UC Davis help fund the Internship and Career Center (ICC) which would directly support me. The ICC offers free mock interviews. A pre-med student like me can really benefit from those.

I have learned leadership and management skills as a supervisor and improved my communication skills as a caller.

I’m also a dancer, and this year I’m performing Kathak at the Indian Student Association cultural show.
