Funding Opportunities

There are well over 100,000 private funders in the U.S., each with different, and usually very specific, funding interests and guidelines. The Office of Foundation and Corporate Giving has tools and expertise to identify viable prospects for your project. Contact us for help.

We know you’re curious about what funders may be appropriate for your project, so the link below will take you to several basic search tools. However, our office has the tools and expertise to identify the most likely partners for your work, saving you time and effort.

Many organizations offer funding to faculty just starting their research careers. Some of these opportunities are open to any eligible faculty member, but many limit the number of applications from UC Davis. Applicants for these opportunities are selected through the Limited Submissions process.  Please refer to the specific opportunity to determine the process for applying.

Many funding organizations provide special grant opportunities for faculty just starting their research careers. View our list of programs that provide this early career funding. Contact OFCG for additional information about any of these opportunities.

The Office of Foundation and Corporate Giving encourages faculty and staff to contact us before applying to any private foundation so that we can update you on the current status of UC Davis’ relationship with the foundation. On behalf of the Chancellor and the University, we manage a portfolio of approximately 35 foundations and corporations that give to higher education nationally or in our region.

However, for some specific foundations, known as Chancellor’s Prospects, we require notification prior to any contact. There may be limitations on the number of applications that may be made, particular donor preferences, current Chancellor activity, or other circumstances of which you should be aware.

Please consult with the Office of Foundation and Corporate Giving before contacting any of the foundations below:
