“I give to several places because there are so many causes at UC Davis that are worth supporting. First, I love animals dearly. (I have six dogs and two cats, all rescues). I want animals to have the care they need to live happy lives so this is my small way of contributing to that goal. I also have tremendous respect for our School of Veterinary Medicine.
I also am a first generation college graduate from a disadvantaged background, and I want to make the path a bit easier for the younger generation. I have always felt so fortunate that my parents put my sisters and I on the path to pursuing our educations. It changed our lives and by donating to scholarships, I honor my parents.” — Colleen Sweeney, Professor and Vice Chair, Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Medicine, School of Medicine
