Kaleena Bergfors, Development Analyst, Foundation and Corporate Giving, Email Kaleena
Kaleena Bergfors is a graduate of UC Davis and brings a combination of experience in fundraising and outreach to her work with Foundation and Corporate Giving. As an undergraduate, she served as the Events Director for We Are Aggie Pride (WAAP), a student-run philanthropy which raises money for students in emergency financial situations. During her tenure on the Board of Directors for WAAP, she honed her outreach and “ask” skills as she approached students, faculty and community members for gifts, as well as reaching out to community organizations for sponsorships. Prior to joining our unit, she was the outreach and social media maven for the California Center for Cooperative Development, where she also managed and grew their corporate sponsorships and individual membership programs. Ms. Bergfors received a B.A. in religious studies from UC Davis and an A.A. in anthropology from San Diego Mesa College.
Jenny Bickford, Director of Foundation Giving, Email Jenny
Jenny Bickford started in the Office of Foundation and Corporate Giving at UC Davis in 2012. Bickford works with colleagues across the university to increase the level of foundation support to UC Davis. With prior appointments at Arizona State and Penn State University, Bickford has been working in foundation relations since 2000. Bickford has significant experience working with faculty and staff to develop projects, interacting with national and regional foundations, and writing letters of inquiry and proposals. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from ASU.
Sarah Carle, Associate Director of Foundation Giving, Email Sarah
Sarah Carle is Associate Director, Foundation and Corporate Giving, where she focuses on foundation relations. Sarah has more than a decade of progressive fundraising experience in the arts and higher education. She previously served as Director of Institutional Giving at the Armory Center for the Arts in Pasadena and Assistant Director of Development at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles, where she oversaw foundation, government, and corporate fundraising and stewardship. Sarah holds a BA in Music History from UCLA and an MA in Ethnomusicology from the University of Hawai`i, Mānoa, where she specialized in Japanese and Indonesian music.
Traci Galbaugh, Director of Foundation Giving, Email Traci
Traci Galbaugh started at UC Davis in 2015. Galbaugh focuses on the basic and biomedical sciences, working with faculty to identify and pursue funding opportunities from non-governmental entities, as well as building relationships with these foundations. Prior to joining UC Davis, she worked at Northwestern University (NU) for 10 years where she originally started as post-doctoral fellow in the Lurie Cancer Center. After transitioning away from the bench, she spent three years as the associate director for an interdisciplinary graduate program in the biological sciences at NU. Her last position at NU before coming to UC Davis was as senior associate director of Foundation Relations, which she held for two years. Galbaugh has a Ph.D. from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in molecular pathology.
Jaime Heppler, Assistant Direcor, Foundation and Corporate Giving, Email Jaime
Jaime Heppler joined the Office of Foundation and Corporate Giving (FCG) in October of 2017. In this role, Heppler provides annual/special corporate and foundation fundraising support to faculty and staff for both the academic and health campus. Prior to joining the FCG team, Jaime worked for the UC Davis Cal Aggie Alumni Association as their Director of Partnership Sales. Heppler is a wife and mother to daughter Elouise and son James. Jaime received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Oregon.
Lauren White, Associate Director, Email Lauren
Lauren White is the Associate Director of Development for the Office of Corporate and Foundation Giving. She is responsible for connecting companies and nonprofit funders with the innovative thinking of UC Davis educators, scientists and physicians, leading to partnership investment in people, programs and research with global impact. In prior roles, Lauren was the Corporate and Foundation Philanthropy Manager for the American Diabetes Association, Sacramento Market and has held positions in donor stewardship, event production, and program management at UC San Diego. Lauren has a Bachelors in Communications from UC San Diego and an MBA from Point Loma Nazarene University.
