More About Our Foundation Board Chair

Darryl Goss, Foundation Board Chair

A proud Aggie alumnus with a passion for giving back, Darryl Goss ’83 has served as Foundation Board Chair since July 1, 2020.

Over the past three decades, Darryl has been an innovative leader in the technology and health care sectors. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Inform Diagnostics, a cutting-edge provider of anatomic pathology services. Prior to his current role, he served as President of SAFC® Hitech, the high-technology custom manufacturing services business unit for Sigma-Aldrich® Corporation. He has also served as Vice President and General Manager for the SAFC's Life Science Services business in Europe and Asia (formerly BioReliance, Inc.), and in executive positions with Corning SciCor, Covance, Esoterix, LabCorp and Merck KGaA.  Darryl began his career in information technology with IBM and later moved into senior roles in IT, operations and general management in the health care industry.

A student-athlete on the football team, Darryl spent his undergraduate years balancing academics and team practice. He also met the love of his life, Lois Goss ’85. In addition to his bachelor’s degree in Afro-American Studies from UC Davis, Darryl holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago and completed post-graduate work in Advanced Management from Oxford University in Oxford, England.

The Goss family’s service to UC Davis is evidence of their commitment to excellence and the vision they have for the university’s future. Darryl was previously Chair of the Foundation’s Global Campaign Leadership Council (GCLC) and later became Vice Chair of the Foundation Board. A former Chair of the College of Letters and Science Dean’s Advisory Council, he is as a current member of the Athletics Board. Lois currently serves as a member of the College of Letters and Science Dean’s Advisory Council and the Women and Philanthropy Advisory Council.

Inspired by the network of support they received as students, Darryl and Lois established the Goss Family Endowment in 2008 to benefit programs in the African American and African Studies Department, as well as to support first-generation and low-income students at UC Davis. To honor individuals who were supportive of them during their time at UC Davis, in 2012 they established the Joe Singleton Scholarship for athletes, and the Gary Perkins Scholarship for Student Affairs. More recently, along with a group of friends and other alums, they established two more undergraduate student endowments in support of the Aggie EVO program for student-athletes and the UC Davis Center for African Diaspora Student Success.
